I am a Reg. Yoga Teacher and completed Certification in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga ( TCTSY-F) with David Emerson, Dr. Jenn Philips and Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk in Boston USA. Neuroscience has advanced and confirms the importance of attending to and befriending your body to heal from the impact of traumas including vicarious trauma. Trauma Sensitive Yoga is supported by empirical research. yoga_as_an_adjunctive_treatment_for_posttraumatic_stress_disorder-_a_randomized_controlled_trial_-_journal_of_clinical_psychiatry_-__emerson_van_de_kolk_et_al_2014_2.pdf I will work with you individually or in a small group. I allow you to have control over what you are doing at all times and will NOT physically adjust you. I provide a safe, professional facilitation to support you to explore the "particular dynamics (what is happening in the muscles , what it feels like to have your feet on the ground, what it feels like to breathe, etc.)" You will have opportunities to cultivate a positive connection to your body through body awareness, choice-making, and focused breathing.
As a Imago Couples Coach I create a safe space for you to explore and safely talk about issues in your relationship. This work brings forth your personal vulnerability and willingness to grow, change and flourish in your relationship.
As a Reg. Psychotherapist I work closely with people enabling them to understand themselves more fully so they can subsequently make positive changes in their lives. I work creatively using the Gestalt approach drawing from other modalities such as solution focus, mindfulness, art therapy, yoga, dream work and couples work. I work alongside the person to enhance their experience of themself and there world to facilitate their ongoing personal growth.
I am a Registered Nurse, although I don't currently practice, this training gives insight and foundation to the work I do in Psychotherapy, TCTSY Trauma Sensitive Yoga and Imago Couples work
I offer supervision for health professionals to enable them a safe space to look at the challenges of their practice and acknowledge their strengths and thus facilitate their professional growth and practice.
